I think it's time to refresh and move on from the last post, don't you, so here is a different flowery version of an old tea cosy pattern of mine.
Here's the original 1 cup Tea Cosy, with some large daisies on it.
A friend of mine on Ravelry made the pattern a long time ago, but only being a beginner crocheter back then, made the flowers smaller by accident (you know who you are xx). It looked so cute I always said I'd make another version with smaller flowers from her inspiration. So here is a different version.
It is made to fit a 1 to 1 1/2 cup teapot.
But then another friend told me it needed butterflies, so never one to disappoint, I found some pretty butterflies to attach. These aren't washable and are sticking on quite well actually, but of course if you can find some cute butterfly buttons they will look even better!
The pattern -
Make the cosy body from the same pattern, the link is HERE.
If you have a slightly taller pot, do a few more rows of green, before decreasing. Remember the pattern is for a teeny tiny 1+ Teapot. :-)
The smaller Flowers -
Use a 4mm hook and 8ply / DK yarn. I use English Crochet terminology, there is a "Conversion to US terms" link, at the right hand side of my blog, if you need to convert to US terms.
With Lemon yarn,
make a magic loop and work 10 dc into the loop, join with a sl st, pull tight and fasten off.
Next attach your chosen petal colour onto any dc with a sl st
*In the next dc, work 1htr, 1tr, 1dtr, 1tr, 1htr.
Sl st into the next dc.
Repeat from * around and join with a sl st into first slst. 5 petals.
I made 13 small flowers to comfortably fill the "flower pot".
I hope you like this version as well - Jen.
